Soak on the Sound

Second time coming here, the first time was great. This time we were extremely disappointed. We had a reservation for 11 am for a 1 hr soak, but did not get a full hour, the entire process felt so rushed and not spa like at all! The 10 min marker “bell” rang at 11:40, it was barely audible so we thought maybe it was for the room next door especially because we should have had 20 more minutes remaining. We then got a sharp knock on the door, not once but 3 separate times all well before noon which was when our reservation was supposed to end. On the last knock the lady abruptly told us we must exit the room now, note that it was only at 11:50 at this point. We ended up finishing our “relaxing” soak by rushing to towel off, dress and gather our things so the lady would stop knocking on our door - again, not the spa experience you would expect!!! If I’m paying over $100 a hour for a spa soak experience, I expect to receive my full hour booking and not be pressured to rush out of there.

This place is great for relaxing and a mental reset. We booked the suite and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Pros The service was great. The tub was super relaxing and hot enough to melt your aches away. The sauna was large enough for us both to stretch out. Everything was very clean and tranquil. The shower soap smelled lovely. Cons The edges of the pool were copper and smelled like it. Shorter legged people may have issues getting in the pool. The water in the sauna was supposed to have eucalyptus in it. I couldn't smell it at all. Overall, we found it worthwhile and a nice break from frantic running around. I recommend this if you suffer from arthritis at all.

Soak on the Sound is truly a wellness retreat from the craziness of life. The second you walk in, the calming atmosphere starts to heal you. The staff are so lovely and always make me feel comfortable. I have only used the soaking tubs which are fantastic but can’t wait to try the saunas too. This is a must visit in downtown Port Townsend when you need some affordable self care.

Bliss in the heart of Port Townsend! Well-appointed rooms with soaking tub, sauna, or both (as pictured in photos of the suite); on-site oils and unguents and spa-ware. Megan (the owner) will do her utmost to ensure a positive experience, so be nice and graciously take those street shoes off & rinse your outside body before going into the tub or sauna. 😇 BYO water bottle, extra towel, indoor sandals/slippers and toiletries for the best experience. And remember: bliss-time passes far more quickly than you might imagine 😉, so plan your timely exit (including final shower) from the rooms accordingly.
